COURSE DESCRIPTION:
is an introductory course in science education its purpose is to provide a theoretical foundation of education through the study of nature, purposes and means of educational process and the subject of education in order that students understand and appreciate the field of education. Framed in a pluralistic vision of the educational problem, the course will also contribute to the conscious development of future vocation educator.

III .- GENERAL OBJECTIVES: 1 .- Identify
disciplinary field of Educational Sciences and to understand the nature of this knowledge.
2 .- Explain the historical character of the pedagogical knowledge and practical achievements exemplifying trends.
3 .- Understand and value the educational event and distinguish, characterize and assess the elements that constitute it.
4 .- To understand and appreciate the anthropological foundation of education through the analysis of the main currents of philosophical thought in history and its application to education today.
